-Triple Eight Exoskin Knee Pad Athletic Sports Equipment - Multi Review
I tried tons of knee pads on before I bought these. I ordered the 661 EVOs and returned them due to loose threads and uncomfortable fit. I tried the Fox, Troy Lee, POC, and others. The Fox fit terrifically, best of all actually, but are a hard shell pad for more serious downhill protection - I may get those later.I got the Exoskins because they have the comfortable feel similar to a sleeve that supports the knee. If you have knee injuries in your history you'll appreciate how they support the leg, and insulate the joint somewhat, keep it lubed internally - beyond protecting you from impact.
The Exoskins are very comfortable, lower in profile, flex very well and the more times you wear them they sort of mold to the contour of your leg. They pack well too, handy for travel. Took them with me to ride in Marin and Co Springs the past couple months and no issues at all doing a lot of climbing. Great range of motion. Forgot I had them on.
I have not tested the knee pads for impact yet (thankfullY), but I have the Exoskin elbow pads as well and I can tell you that I clipped a couple trees recently and nothing! Ding an elbow real good and see how that puts a bummer on your remaining ride. Over the handle bars a couple times too, and both the knee and elbow pads saved me from scrapes or worse - glad I had them on!
Very happy with these pads.
