These are truly excellent trucks for any type of longboard: top mount, drop through, etc.

Randal trucks lengthen wheel base whereas certain trucks (eg Caliber, Paris) shorten wheel base thereby increasing the risk of wheelbite.

So Randals are a safe choice - turny enough for carving and cruising (bushing setup and a looser kingpin enables turny trucks) and stable for downhill, sliding etc. The bushing seat isn't great on the hangar, but it's fine.

hangar is flippable (to lower from 50 degree to about 46 degree - although i don't bother to flip. higher angle equals higher leverage)

for bushing i recommend Orangatang barrel bushing (yellow - hard duro) for boardside and Bones Hard or Medium cone/conical shape bushing for road side.

I have installed and used Randal on various decks: Landyachtz Chinook downhill deck, Landyachtz Wolf Shark (no wheelbite with 70mm stimulus wheels), Landyachtz Switch, etc.

at $38 for a set this is good value for money.

some chips or gaps on the hanger so casting process and quality isn't 100% but so far so good.
