The K2.1 is the first of Kelly Slater's world beating templates now available in Performance Core. Kelly tested prototypes of these throughout the 2nd half of '08 and chose this design. The K2.1 has an upright template designed by Kelly with a smaller trailing fin. This is what Kelly rides in beach break and barrels and is ideal for tight turns and high performance in the pocket surfing. Performance Core (PC) material and construction is designed to deliver the feeling of a traditional glass fin with the added performance of reduced weight. The result is a lightweight fin with remarkable flex, a smooth feel, and an impressive aesthetic.

I've been able to ride 1' mush and 10' bombs without switching from the FCS K2.1 fins. I will often swap them out depending on the wave conditions and location (ie shallow reef vs beach break), however, I can rely on them to react exactly the way they should in any situation. Speed, check. Medium/Short arc, check. Solid hold when necessary, check. Loose tail when kicked out, check. Hands down the most reliable and versatile fins, hence, the Master (Kelly, of course) himself not only helped design them, but also often surfs with them. A must have for short-boarders in the 140-175lb range.
