The fabric is rated UltraViolet Protection Factor (UPF) 50+, the highest-possible rating, for Excellent sun protection, blocking over 98% of harmful UVA/UVB radiation from the sun. A small elastic "Loop It Or Lose It!" centered waist loop can be tied to boardshorts or other bottoms for a more secure fit. The arm and waist openings are lined with stretch fabric binding for comfort. A 2" high collar adds even more sun protection.

This rash guard has the tallest mock turtle collar of any I've tried, and I've tried or considered many of them. As such, it really helps protect the back of my neck from rashes. I use front-zip wetsuits, so neck rashes are a problem since the neck opening cannot be adjusted. The trade-off is seal around the neck to prevent water ingress. If you're concerned about that, than this may not be the product for you.
