Airhead AHSUP-1 Stand Up Paddleboard Review

For an inflatable, this board is surprizingly stiff and stable. I am a beginner, and this board is perfect for me. It comes with a large gear bag and kayak seat for sit down paddling, but I guarantee you will be hooked on stand up. The only negatives on this board, which I consider minor were: 1) the carry strap in the middle of the board is useless. If you have to carry the inflated board for even a short distance, your knuckles quickly get raw from getting pinched against the board. I suggest investing the $20 in an over the shoulder carry strap. 2) the pump that comes with this is not great. it is pretty impossible to get the board pumped up above 11 PSI with that pump. I haven't found a suitable electric pump yet and the ones I did see that went up to 15 PSI were $150 or more. However, manually pumping up to nearly 11 PSI was sufficient to maintain a firm board for me (I weigh 170 lbs.). It took a lot of struggle and sweat to get it to that point with the manual pump so I probably will not be deflating and inflating until I get an electric pump. So I ended up spending $30 on the foam car rack and tie downs (got a nice one on sale at Bass Pro along with a waist belt inflatable life vest).

Overall, I am extremely happy with this board and would give it a 5 for the board and accessories, with exception of the pump.
