I wanted a well-priced pair of comfortable skates for my recreational skating (I skate about once a week) - and these are just that. I've noticed some reviews claiming that the upper strap is too tight, but it's adjustable - if you press the lock on the inner side of the skate, and pull the strap out a bit, even a person with thick calves should be able to fit in... I enjoy my skates a lot more than the hard and uncomfortable rentals.
